The Medinexus Product suite

The Medinexus Product Suite consists of integrated web and windows applications supported by the Medinexus infrastructure which is hosted at a world class data centre. The Medinexus Product suite is an easy-to-use, electronic tool-set designed to be used by clinical practitioners, health professionals and their staff and most users can be trained in less than 5 minutes. Most importantly roll out of the system to the referrers is extremely simple and does not require any onsite visits to each referrers clinic.

At the heart of Medinexus is the Healthtalk system that we have developed – it is this system which allows for compression of images to facilitate the fast delivery of large images to the referring clinician.

Our solution is based on adherence to industry standards and as these standards and frameworks such as HL7, DICOM and IHE evolve we will endeavour to conform to them.

In summary the Medinexus system delivers reports and discharge summaries with the corresponding images to the referring practitioners and stores the information centrally so that it is accessible at a later stage and can also be made available to any clinician who is part of the patients continuum of care. Some of the specific functionality provided as part of the system is listed below:

• Automatic merging of HL7 reports and the corresponding DICOM or JPG images in radiology practices, hospitals and specialist practices

• Creation of electronic HL7 documents i.e. reports etc where there is no management system creating these reports automatically.

• Manual merging of images with HL7 reports for those facilities who wish to add images manually to reports before they are delivered

• Automatic or manual digital signing of reports before they are delivered to the referrer

• Transmission of electronic documents and images to other providers involved in a patient’s care so that practitioners can start to collaborate with each other on a patients treatment programme

• Automatic downloading of reports into the Inbox of their practice management system such as Medical Director. Reports and images can be viewed directly from with Medical Director version 2 and 3

• Notification of delivery of report to referrer via SMS, Email or examining the Medinexus Inbox if they don’t have a practice management system into which the reports are downloaded

• Access all reports anywhere anytime as long as users have a browser with Internet connection

• Track reports that have not been read by the referrer– critical for those patients with abnormal findings

• Indexing and storage of electronic documents for later review or transfer to another clinician at a later stage
